French Myth Debunked

While there is a lot of public kissing, which fits the French image, the rumour that Parisians can be rude is a mystery to me. I have yet to encounter one rude person and, in fact, people have gone out of their way to be helpful. The key seems to be to make some effort to speak French, even if it's simply to ask if they speak English. It sounds odd, but it was the advice Fodor's & the hotel owner gave me & it works. Parisians have been gracious and helpful. Chances are tomorrow I'll encounter someone rude, but that could just as well happen in Saskatoon and it could very well be another tourist.

Hmmm...I'd always wondered about that myth. You know it's also said, people are generally nicer to Canadians since we're so nice to everyone else. ;)

Love the pix! especially Cape Town; it is gorgeous with those mountains. I haven't seen mountains since foreverrrr. I like happy feet. =) Believe it or not, Amsterdam looks very much like Chicago, at least in the pix. No pix from Paris yet?

You didn't update the blog. Maybe you're on your way home. Just a heads up, there is a blizzard warning in Saskatoon today, though so far, it doesn't look as bad as last time. I hope you'll have a fun and safe trip home. Can't wait to see you on Monday and hear all about it!
